How I Relate To My Researching

To finalize the subject of researching, I would like to go over how I always seem to relate to my research and how it helps me.

How Do I Relate?

  1. Choose an interesting topic
  2. Find some way to connect to the subject
  3. Remember an acronym or phrase

Why Does Relating To Research Matter?

When relating to research, the availability to remember something is opened up. When relating to research, I find that it is more fun, it feels more important, and it allows you to think of other subjects to study that branch off of the first idea.

My Example of Relating to Research

As many of you may already know, I one of my head tilt explanation posts I had talked about how I could relate since torticollis is in humans as well. I happen to have torticollis, causing me to look into it more and be able to relate to some symptoms.  Even though my head isn’t 90 degrees tilted, I can still connect to the studies that connect with torticollis problems.

*If you would like me to go over more about my torticollis and how it is compared to rabbit torticollis, let me know in the comments and give this post a like to let me know if you think that it’s a good idea.

Thank you for coming back again for another post. I will be going on to more story time posts so stay tuned for that. I realize that this was a very short post, but I just needed a small summary to wrap up researching. Please share this post with your family and friends to share my word and yours as well.

How to Make Rabbit Researching Fun

Since researching can get pretty boring, here are some ways to make researching more interesting, fun, and relaxing while still getting it done.

Ways to Make Researching Fun

  • Take breaks in between
  • Watch YouTube videos on rabbit care
  • Look at different sanctuaries/shelters, adoption centers that you want to get your rabbit from as a break session
  • Look at different breeds
  • Keep the fact that you could be getting a rabbit as your inspiration
  • Research when your happy

Why Do These Matter?

When you take breaks and look through different shelters on free time, it’s easier to keep going. When you also research when your happy, it makes it easier to continue because it’s a happy and positive thing. By watching YouTube videos, it gives so much to look for when researching for rabbits. There are also very cute rabbit videos for when you are taking breaks.

How to Stay Positive When Researching

  • Watch cute rabbit videos
  • Encourage yourself to keep going
  • Remember that good will come off all the research

Researching is fun if you make it fun. Just remember to always stay positive and researching will be way more smooth and simple!

Thank you for coming back once again for another post. I’ll talk to you again in two days. Until then, share this post with you family and friends.

How Can Research Improve a Rabbit’s Lifespan?

Since research has been the topic lately, I would like to go over how it can lengthen a rabbit’s lifespan.

How Does it Work?

Rabbits need a lot of different types of relationships to stay healthy and avoid as much stress as possible. By doing research you would know:

  • Some rabbits are very hostile and that territories are a big factor in bonding issues
  • Rabbits need to go through sessions of bonding
  • Stress in rabbits can kill them
  • Etc.

This can go on for other topics such as:

  • Bedding
  • Food
  • Health
  • Medical
  • Playing time
  • Bunny proofing
  • Etc.

What the Gist of All of This is

By researching, rabbits will get the proper care they need and deserve. When research is not done properly, rabbits end up dead in a couple years because they weren’t fed properly, where housed inappropriately, etc. Rabbits are thrown out all of the time because they are high maintenance, which would have been recognized it the owner did their research.

So all in all, when something happens unexpected to a rabbit, it’s usually because someone didn’t do research, so just make sure you spend the time to do your research and keep your rabbit safe.

Thank you for coming back once again. Please share this with your family and friends and come back every other day for a new post.

How to Make a Research Layout

Since researching is so important, you will want to make sure that it is neat, organized, and that you are prepared with all of the categories needed.

An Example of a Layout:

Food

Veggies: Types, amounts, when and how often fed, etc.

Pellets: Brand, amounts, nutrition, etc.

Water: Cleaning times, bowls, etc.

Treats: DIY, Oxbow, fresh fruit, etc.

Cleaning

Solution: 50/50, etc.

Litter boxes: What litter, types of litter boxes, cleaning boxes, etc.

Laundry: When it will be washed, detergent, what to avoid.

Bedding

Shopping: Joann’s, convenience store, etc.

Type of bedding: Towels, fleece, mats, etc.

Grooming

Shedding: containing it, what to do to help, etc.

Materials: Brush (DIY?)

Shedding times per year, etc.

Cage

Size: Width, Length, Height: minimum

Materials: DIY?, What is safe, etc.

Keeping cage clean, where to put it, etc.

At Home Safety Kit

Materials, what they do, where to keep it, etc.

Others

Organization: On top of cage, on shelves, etc.

Bonding: With a new rabbit, with two or more rabbits together, tactics, etc.

Transportation: Carriers, packing, etc.

Containing stress, researching different medical problems, etc.

*Just keep in mind that this is an outline. This does not give the information details that are needed to keep a healthy rabbit. If you would like to use this outline, go ahead, that’s what it’s here for.

Thank you for coming back again today for a new post. Please continue to share this with your family and friends. Please come back every other day for a new post and I will talk to you then, bye.

Examples of Unreliable Resources

As a contrast to my last post, I would like to go over some sources that may not be all that reliable for proper rabbit care. I would encourage anyone researching to look primarily at the different options I gave in my last post, and to try to stay away from these options. If you haven’t seen my last post, make sure to check it out.

Some Examples:

  • Pet store employees
  • An inexperienced rabbit breeder
  • Rabbit care pamphlets from pet stores
  • Any random person who may have gotten secondary information

Why Are These So Dangerous?

When these different types of rabbit care sources come out, many people will see these different suggestions. Mos,t if not all of the examples above will give advice which would be on the cheaper scale. Even though everyone likes to save some money, from the start, that researcher should have known that they were getting them self in a situation causing them to have spend a lot of money to give proper care, which is the problem. The moment a new rabbit owner gets improper advice, they are going to follow what they were told if not told otherwise, causing many problems. This could include, bad diets, bad housing, improper handling, and more. If proper care was given, the rabbit wouldn’t have to go through so much stress and bad care to live their life.

What You Can Do About It

  • If someone tells you something you know they have wrong, correct them nicely and explain the problem in what they had said
  • Put out you own proper information and share it with everyone along with backup information
  • Find others to back you up and show that to that person if they don’t believe you
  • When in doubt, just ask your vet for advice and help the vet get a hold of that person if needed.
  • Don’t forget to always be kind in doing this!

My Advice For Anyone Shy But Wants to Stick Up Against An Unreliable Resource:

If you are like me, a very shy but persevere person, I would encourage you to take my advice of using other resources to back you up and support you while correcting that person’s mistakes. Make sure to be kind and fight what is right!

Thank you once again for coming back. I will be addressing more on resources, so stay tuned for that. Please share this with your family and friends to spread proper rabbit care, that way unreliable resources don’t have to be a problem 😉 As long as you come back, I will talk to you in two days, bye.

What Are Examples of Reliable Resources When Researching Rabbit Care?

Now that I am going into depth about researching rabbit care, I would like to start anyone who is currently starting their researching in the right path by giving reliable resources to research from.

Some Reliable Resources Include:

  • Binky Bunny
  • House Rabbit Society
  • Rabbit forums
  • Rabbit Veterinarian sites
  • Other rabbit owners advice (you know the basics already)
  • Rabbit product Company
  • YouTubers
  • Blogs
  • Rabbit Caretakers/Shelters/Adoption centers/Sanctuaries
  • Rabbit care books written by vets (not from petstore)

How Do I Know They Are Reliable?

Any reliable resource will be able to be:

  • Backed up by at least two other resources when a fact is stated
  • Will be ran by someone who is experienced in rabbit care (professional or a rabbit owner)
  • If the person works with rabbits and takes care of them properly, they can be trusted

Why Does It Matter If the Source is Reliable or Not?

If a resource is not reliable, you won’t know if the information is true and if the thought that you know proper rabbit care is actually true. Rabbits are very complex, needy and reliant animals, and without proper support, death to these precious animals is easy, one simple topic that wasn’t properly addressed could kill a rabbit. This isn’t only for rabbits, this is for all animals. All animals need the proper care that they deserve, so why wouldn’t rabbits get that same amount of attention?

Thank you for coming back for this post. If there are more reliable rabbit care sites that I missed, make sure to leave a comment so that I can make sure to add it into this post. Share this post with all of your friends and family to support proper rabbit care. I will talk to you in two days, bye.

Intro to Researching for Rabbit Care

Now that we are back on track, I thought a good way to get back would be explaining the basics of how you may want to research for rabbits (if you would be getting one). I recommend starting research right away, even if you don’t know if you’ll be allowed to have a rabbit, research, it gives the rights to show knowledge.

Why Researching is Important

  • Gives knowledge to succeed
  • Could save the rabbit’s life
  • Allows a proper life for the rabbit

What I will be Going Over Relating to Researching:

  • What sources are reliable
  • What sources are unreliable
  • How to determine a reliable resource
  • What to look for when researching (remake)
  • How can a rabbit live longer if a new rabbit owner does proper research?
  • How to make a research layout
  • Ways to make researching fun
  • My strategies to researching and the relations I make

Thank you for coming back for this brief post. I just wanted to show what the upcoming posts will show and what to be ready for. Talk to you again in two days, bye.

What Litter to Use?

Today will be a description of what litter would work best for you and your rabbit(s). This will include hay, wood stove pellets, cat litter, paper bedding, etc.

Hay

There are rabbit owners that will use hay as litter, so that your rabbit can eat the clean hay, and ignore the soiled hay.

Reasons: Simple, easy to clean, convenient, and functional, very cheap.

To take into consideration:

  • Hay doesn’t absorb liquids
  • The pee may omit odors
  • The hay will be wasted
  • The litter pan will be very dirty without any protection

Wood Stove Pellets

Wood stove pellets are great for anyone who happens to live in the country where wood stove pellets will be more commonly sold.

Reasons: Cheap, very easily accessed, absorption is definitely there.

To take into consideration:

  • May be dusty
  • Doesn’t have much of an odor control

Cat Litter

Cat litter is absolutely great for anyone who already owns cats, because you don’t need to worry about the new litter to buy.

Reasons: Very convenient, not too dusty, some are environmentally safe.

To take into consideration:

  • Pretty expensive
  • Must be wood/paper pellets (no clay or clumping litter)
  • Has to be scent free to be safe for your rabbit’s respiratory system

Carefresh or Any Paper Bedding Brand

Carefresh is great to get at pet stores for fun colors and different types of paper litter that is good for the environment.

Reasons: Soft on hocks, very presentable, fun for themes.

To take into consideration:

  • Expensive
  • Isn’t very good with odor control, a better controlling litter will need to be underneath.
  • Dusty/messy

Horse stall Bedding

Horse stall bedding pellets are great for easy access picking up at almost any store, and for great prices.

Reasons: Very cheap, convenient, very absorbent, odor control is great, wood smells nice, often found in bulk.

To take into consideration

  • The bag is often very heavy

Thank you for coming back for another post. Please come back every other day for a new post, and check out any past posts that you may have missed. I’ll talk to you then, bye.

What To Feed A Rabbit Daily

Part of owning any animal is to have a daily routine with feeding. Today, I will be sharing what to feed and everything that is necessary to feed your rabbit.

Choosing Your Veggies

In the morning, you will be feeding your bunnies their “salad.” Here are some safe veggies that I recommend feeding: Romaine lettuces, red and green leaf lettuces, *kale, *spinach, cilantro, parsley, sage, etc.

  • If there is an * symbol, that veggie should only be fed once or twice a week due to the amounts of calcium in that particular veggie.

When you feed your rabbit its veggies, you should have at least two main veggies such as romaine lettuce or red/green leaf lettuce. Once you have your main veggie, you will want to pick out a topper. Toppers usually consist of herbs such as cilantro, parsley, sage, etc. If you feed kale or spinach, take note so that you don’t feed it too often.

If you ever wonder if a veggie is safe for bunnies, LOOK IT UP. Everyone tends to say that for everything, but if you find a reliable source, getting the correct information is as easy as ever. When finding a reliable source, see if they have any connections to owning rabbits. If you’re not sure, take a piece of information that you know is correct, and put them to the test. Looking something up on Google with no form of source is common when looking up if a veggie is safe, do not worry, you can trust that source. They will often list off more veggies that are safe too.

If your ever in doubt with whether you can trust that source, feel free to comment and I will get back to you!

Hay Supply

When owning a rabbit, You will need to always have unlimited grass hay on hand. You can buy it online if you would like, but you really don’t have to. If you can find a farm near you that has either timothy, orchard, or meadow hay that isn’t mixed with a source of alfalfa or clover hay, that will be beneficial for any rabbit, even little bunnies. Remember, you have to supply this hay 24/7 in large amounts, even if you don’t think they can eat that much, because they probably can.

If you own a baby bunny, you may be wondering weather you should get clover or alfalfa hay. You can, but once they hit six months, they have to be switched over to a grass hay (timothy, orchard grass, or meadow). Simply do this by mixing in grass hay gradually, adding more and more grass hay as the weeks go on.

Water Supply

Rabbits need unlimited water in a BOWL 24/7. If it is given through a bottle, your rabbit may not be able to access the amount of water they need for that day. Remember that you have to clean the bowls regularly. Both hay and water are needed for proper digestion. Did you know?: Rabbits drink as much as a 20 pound dog!

Pellets

When feeding pellets, you should be cautious of what’s in them. Look at the ingredients, if molasses is in the ingredients, be cautious due to how sweet it is. Too many sweets can harm your rabbit. A good pellet should have lots of fiber, not too much calcium, and shouldn’t have a bunch of sweeteners. Make sure it doesn’t have seeds, oils, and artificial products either.
